ABOUT US

The Social Workers Club at NISD is a dynamic group where aspiring social workers can cultivate their skills, build a support network, and make a real difference. We offer a welcoming space for students of all backgrounds and years of study, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Our activities encompass a variety of areas:

Professional Development:
Organize guest speaker sessions with experienced social workers, covering diverse practice areas and career paths.
Host workshops on essential social work skills like interviewing, crisis intervention, and policy advocacy.
Facilitate field trip visits to local social service agencies, providing firsthand exposure to the field.

Social Awareness & Advocacy:
Organize discussions, film screenings, and panels on pressing social issues like poverty, mental health, and racial justice.
Collaborate with other student organizations to raise awareness and advocate for policy changes that promote social justice.
Partner with local non-profits to offer volunteer opportunities, allowing members to gain practical experience while serving the community.

Mentorship & Networking:
Connect students with social work professionals through mentorship programs, offering guidance and support throughout their academic journey.
Organize networking events, fostering connections with alumni and potential employers.
Develop a resource library with career planning materials, scholarships, and internship opportunities.
The Social Workers Club is more than just an academic club. It's a platform for personal growth, professional development, and social action. We believe in the power of collaboration and community to create positive change within the social work field and beyond.
